Aim
A THREE DAY RESIDENTIAL course to help participants to refuel and gain support and experience how this supportive enviroment may be continues once you return to your place of work
Learning outcomes
- to examine what draws us to the work we do, recognise our own need for support and explore different ways to support and help ourselves and others
- to identify our own feelings around loss and grief and the physical and emotional effects these have on us
- to examine and develop a deeper understanding of the needs of grieving families and how grief affects them
- to identify ways to use listening and assertiveness skills to increase self-confidence and be an advocate for ourselves and others
- to provide an opportunity to network and share experiences
- to gain information about the Child Bereavement Charity, other similar support organisations and resources available
Who should attend?
A supportive course suitable for anyone involved in caring for bereaved families and children, whether in the statutory or voluntary sector.
Working with people in loss and grief is difficult and stressful. The core theme of this course is to enable the professional carer to support other through developing our own self-awareness. This involves acknowledging our feelings and finding ways of meeting our own needs.
