Aim
To develop a strategy and explore how a 'care pathway' can be used to support and deliver a Trust-wide bereavement service, which is both responsive and flexible enough to support the differing needs of bereaved families and staff
Learning outcomes
- to identify what strategies and support Trusts already have in place and establish areas in which existing good practice may be developed
- to identify best practice issues in relation to bereavement care and informed choice for parents/carers
- to develop a bereavement strategy and explored how a care pathway can be used to deliver a Trust-wide service
- to identify a bereavement service that will meet local needs
- to recognise the imortance of self-awareness and support for the professional
- to gain information about the Child Bereavement Charity, other similar support organisations and resources available
