Training and consultancy

The Child Bereavement Charity is a leader in the training and education of professionals whose work brings them into contact with children and families experiencing loss and grief, whether in circumstances where a baby or child dies, or where a child is bereaved of someone important in their life.

A range of courses has been specifically designed at the request of staff working with families in multi-agency settings across healthcare, education, social care, the police and other emergency services, and the voluntary sector. We also take into account the wider needs of the NHS in improving patient-focused services, including issues such as enhanced communication with families on post-mortem examination, the gift of tissue and organ donation, and the importance of choice in relation to all aspects of care.

CBC's consultancy service is based on our extensive experience of working within the statutory and voluntary sectors. We are able to offer guidance and information on all aspects of child bereavement, including the development of policies and bereavement pathways from palliative care to after death.
