Over the weekend of 20-22 June, 17 fantastic volunteers will be taking part in the first-ever CBC Three Peaks Challenge. They will take on the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, all within 24 hours, covering 40kms and 2,984m of ascent and descent.
Among our intrepid group is Jason Doran, who has been a friend of CBC since his close friends Paul and Lou Woodbridge were supported by the charity. He said:
‘When you are confronted with such a tragedy that strikes at the core of your world and those that you love and care about, you suddenly realise not only how important and critical charities such as CBC are but also how effective they are on a very personal level. The Child Bereavement Charity has been so vital in its support for Paul and Lou in a way in which friends and family have little or no understanding. Doing the Three Peaks Challenge this year is my small sacrifice and contribution to such a fantastic charity and while my challenge will hopefully be over in 24 hours, for Paul and Lou the challenge is for the rest of their lives. I hope I don't let them down!'
