For schools

Welcome to our SCHOOLS Section. 

• Up to 70% of schools have a bereaved pupil on their role at any given time.
• One study found that 92% of young people will experience a "significant" bereavement before the age of 16 years.

With the right help and support, most of these children will not need professional help. What they do need is the understanding of familiar and trusted adults.  Schools are well placed to provide this but with some training, the capability to do so will be greatly enhanced.

The learning acquired by those who attend our courses, has a natural fit with the Common Core of Skills and Knowledge and also Healthy Schools, Emotional Health and Wellbeing.

Training at your school

 All our workshops can be delivered at your school. we can also tailor training to suit your requirements. Fees from £595 for a full day, £395 for half day, or costs can be quoted to suit hours required. For further information please conatct training@childbereavement.org.uk  Tel. 01494 568908

Schools Specific Study Day

In 2009/10 CBC delivered study days in partnership with Healthy Schools in Buckinghamshire and Somerset. These interactive days were highly rated by participants and covered a variety of topics, including:

• Creative ways of communicating with children
• Death and bereavement in school
• Anger and challenging behaviour related to grief
• The impact on staff and how to support yourself and your colleagues
