Counsellors

The specific area of child bereavement is one that many counsellors tell us they feel ill-equipped to deal with.

In working with clients who have experienced the death of a child, or who are having to manage life in a family where both they and their children are grieving, counsellors can be supported by underpinning their skills with some knowledge of such aspects as:

The Charity is also able to offer tailor-made training specific to the needs of counsellors, encompassing theoretical and research material, and regularly inputs on training courses around the country for branches of Cruse Bereavement Care.

CBC also produces a range of resources that counsellors may find helpful in their work with clients, such as a DVD for children, a memory box, workbooks for both adults and children with life-limiting conditions, and for children whose baby brother or sister has died.
