BBC Children In Need - Report "Ordinary Days - Shattered Lives"
On 11th October 2001, following a year-long research project funded by BBC Children In Need, the Child Bereavement Charity launched a major report into the needs of children bereaved by sudden, traumatic and violent death. Through the experiences of 40 children and families affected by sudden and violent death, Ordinary Days and Shattered Lives highlights children's need for information - they do not want to be protected from the truth, however difficult it may be. The report finds that families experience a lack of information and support both for themselves and their children.
