Aim
This TWO DAY course aims to enable participants working with children and young people to acknowledge the skills and abilities they have, deepen their self-awareness and recognise what is important in communicating with children and families both before and after death
Learning Outcomes
- to recognise and acknowledge existing skills and identify learning needs in
relation to loss and grief, what is meant by group dynamics and the skills
required for effective facilitation
- to identify key issues for families both before and after death to enhance
communication and listening skills
- to explore the value of working within clear boundaries to demonstrate an
understanding of self-awareness and develop ways of supporting ourselves
- to recognise the impact of this work on the professional carer
- to gain information about the Child Bereavement Charity, other similar support
organisations and resources available
Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for participants from a variety of paediatric settings, whether in a hospice, hospital, or in the community
