How Will I Help?

Its surprising how even a relatively small amount raised can make a big difference.  Below are just some of the ways in which your fundraising will help CBC's work:

  • £0.60 would provide a new workbook - 'Under 7 When Someone Special Dies Suddenly' - to help a young child to understand what is happening after a death.
  • £2.50 will provide a booklet to a mum or dad who's partner has died 'When your partner dies: supporting your children'. It contains valuable information to help them support children, and make things a little easier for themselves.
  • £5.00 can provide over 10 copies of a 'Teenage guide to coping with bereavement' to teenagers who have lost someone close to them
  • £25 provides a telephone support session for a bereaved  mum or dad, with a trained bereavement support worker.
  • £50 provides a face-to-face support session for a bereaved parent or young person with a trained bereavement counsellor.
  • £100 funds a support session for a school staff team when a child or staff member at the school has died or is recently bereaved
  • £250 funds a support group for a group of parents who have lost a baby or child, to come together and share experiences in a safe environment.
  • £350 funds a bereaved child's support at a programme of 4 Saturday CHYPS Groups, meeting children in similar situations, and sharing experiences in a very supported place.
  • £500 provides a half day on-location training session for up to 20 healthcare professionals in a specialist bereavement subject - £850 provides a full day.
  • £1000 funds a month's maintenance and running of our website, which is of great help to many bereaved families and professionals.
  • £2600 meets the entire runing costs of the charity for a day.
  • £5000 funds a regional study day where up to 100 health professionals benefit by learning from bereaved families what support they need, and by sharing experiences and ideas with each other.
  • £10,000 would fund the development of new training resources and our website to enhance the information and support available to bereaved families and professionals when a child dies or is bereaved
