Family Bereavement Support Service
The charity offers a Buckinghamshire based Bereavement Support Service for families where a baby or child has died or where children and young people are bereaved. The service provides a range of responses including:
- Telephone support and guidance on particular areas of concern for families either pre-bereavement, in the immediate aftermath of a death or in the longer term
- Individual, couple and family support sessions
- Parents' support groups for baby and child death, and support through a subsequent pregnancy
- Young People's Advisory Group
- CHYPS groups for bereaved children together with their parent/carer
When a Baby or Child has Died...
Families can contact us on 01494 568900 (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday) to talk to someone in confidence, request information or guidance.
Families can access individual or couple bereavement support sessions with a trained member of the bereavement services team, or attend bereavement support groups with other parents.
When a Child is Bereaved...
Families can contact us on 01494 568900 (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday) to talk to someone in confidence, request information or guidance.
A parent or prime carer supporting a bereaved child or young person can access individual or family sessions at CBC with a trained member of the bereavement services team, and can attend our CHYPS groups together with their children where they will have the opportunity to meet other families.
How can I make an Initial Enquiry?
Enquiries are welcomed from the family direct or from a third party, so long as the family has agreed to have their details passed to the Child Bereavement Charity. You can either email us or call our Support and Information Team on 01494 568900.
How Much Does it Cost?
Our family bereavement support services are provided free of charge to families.
The charity welcomes donations to support the continuation of this much needed service and our ability to help grieving families depends on the generosity and support of individuals and corporates.
