Chief Executive: Ann Chalmers LLB ACA MBACP
Ann has worked with the charity since 1996 and became its Chief Executive in 2003. She holds a BACP Accredited Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and a University Accredited Diploma in Bereavement Counselling, and has been involved in multi-disciplinary training of professionals in the area of loss and bereavement for over twenty years. She is also a qualified Chartered Accountant. From 1995-2006 Ann was part of the Bereavement Care Team at Mayday Healthcare NHS Trust where her work involved counselling for both individuals and couples. She has also provided counselling for staff within the NHS and for children and young people within the voluntary sector. Ann has contributed to a number of professional publications and books, and has lectured nationally and internationally for the charity. She represents CBC on a number of steering groups, bringing the families' perspective to projects and initiatives of national significance.
Director of Bereavement Services: Ann Rowland C.Psychol
Ann joined the Child Bereavement Charity in May 2009. For 15 years prior to working with CBC, she was Head of an NHS child and adolescent psychology service. She has experience in working with families facing a wide range of difficulties, including loss and bereavement. She has a particular interest in supporting children with learning difficulties and Autism. Ann has provided training on loss and bereavement to the statutory and voluntary sectors both in the UK and overseas. In addition, Ann’s previous roles have included, service development, supervision, consultation, audit and research. She has a number of publications in a range of professional journals and books.
Head of Training: Julia Lawrance
Julia started working for CBC in September 2004 as a part time Training Co-ordinator, returning to work after a 14 year career break to look after her growing family. Her role has developed over the years into a full time management post. Prior to this she was a Senior Lecturer and Head of Division at Thames Valley University, London.
Head of Fundraising and Marketing: Ian Davis
Ian has worked in fundraising, marketing, sales and communications roles for organisations as diverse as Oxfam, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire County Councils, People & Planet and Savills. He joined CBC in July 2008 whilst recovering from a long bout of Estate Agency!
Executive Manager: Sue Randall
Sue joined the charity in 2005 from a background of sales and marketing in pharmaceuticals. Sue works closely with the Chief Executive, manages the office and has taken the lead on a number of the charity’s major fundraising events. Sue also acts as Secretary to the Board of Trustees.
